CURRENT RESEARCH

PhD

Collecting rocks from multiple lava flows at multiple elevations on Erebus Volcano in Antarctica to provide a high latitude, high elevation calibration site for the cosmogenic dating community and use this site to determine which scaling model is the best at predicting exposure ages.

Master's

Using new geothermometers and geobarometers to determine the conditions of crystallization for multiple crystal populations in the ~23 Ma Atascosa Lookout Lava Flow from south-central Arizona. Interpreting geothermobarometry results, textural information and trace element data in light of new models of magma plumbing and an evolving crust in an extensional setting.

Volcano-Earthquake Interactions

Do earthquakes trigger eruptions at distance volcanoes?

Time Series Analysis of Volcano Monitoring Data

Using the tools of time series, what can we uncover about underlying magmatic processes in the multiple types of monitoring data.
